Rosemary Beach
 
Rosemary Beach History
Rosemary Beach is one of 11 beach communities that dot scenic Highway 30-A, an 18-mile road that runs along the gulf coastline in the Panhandle's Walton County. This new, growing community was named for the fragrant herbs that grow wild on its surrounding beachfront dunes.
Although most of Rosemary Beach is still under development, the community has its own post office and town hall, as well as a village inn and small retail area. Each street in Rosemary Beach leads to a public square, plaza, park or recreational area, and you can literally walk anywhere in the neighborhood within minutes.
Homes in Rosemary Beach have a strong Caribbean flavor, although designs also draw inspiration from Charleston, New Orleans and the West Indies. With easy beach access and a growing list of amenities, residents and vacationers alike will be glad to plant their roots in Rosemary Beach.
 
Activities
Rosemary Beach is still growing, but the community currently offers a variety of amenities, with more to come.
Town Square has a selection of shops, offices and restaurants, including Carpenter's Main Street Market, and the Medusa Rouge Wine Shoppe and Tasting Room.
The Gulf of Mexico offers a variety of water-based activities, including boating, fishing, surfing and snorkeling. Four pools are located throughout the community, or you can take a dip in the gulf.
The Rosemary Beach Fitness Center has the latest gym equipment, as well as classes and personal-training services. Eight clay tennis courts offer outdoor action.
Hiking and biking trails also wind through Rosemary Beach, which is linked by parks, boardwalks and pedestrian walkways.
